SaveXTube supports YouTube, X, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, WeChat Channels, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, and many more sites covered by yt-dlp and gallery-dl. Availability may change as platforms update their rules and pages.

For some Weibo videos, the watermark is written directly into the video during server-side transcoding or distribution. SaveXTube downloads the MP4 or M3U8 media stream that Weibo actually provides, so a watermark that is already hard-coded into that version cannot be restored to a watermark-free video. Whether a clean version exists depends on whether Weibo provides the author’s original file or another unwatermarked media source.

This usually does not indicate a damaged installer. It means that the Windows version is older than the current desktop app supports. SaveXTube uses WinUI 3 / Windows App SDK, which requires Windows 10 version 1809 (OS Build 17763) or later; earlier releases do not provide a system API required by the runtime. In PowerShell or the Run dialog, enter winver to check the Windows version and OS build. If it is below Windows 10 1809 / Build 17763, upgrade Windows first; Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 is recommended.

SaveXTube currently saves images from ZCOOL projects, Xiaohongshu image posts, Instagram carousels, Telegraph pages, and X posts. Multi-image posts are downloaded as a batch when the source makes the files available. Signed-in, private, or restricted content may require the relevant platform cookies. Availability can change when a site updates its pages or APIs.

Install the Get cookies.txt LOCALLY extension for Chrome or Edge. Open the platform you want to use and sign in, click the extension icon in the browser toolbar, make sure Export Format is set to Netscape, then click Copy. In SaveXTube, open Settings → Cookies, select the matching platform, paste the copied content into the cookies editor, and save it. Cookies can provide access to your signed-in session, so protect them like a password and never share them.

SaveXTube resolves downloadable WeChat Channels URLs through Tencent Yuanbao, so it requires valid Yuanbao web cookies. Open and sign in to Tencent Yuanbao in Chrome or Edge, then use the Get cookies.txt LOCALLY extension to export the cookies in Netscape format. In SaveXTube, open Settings → Cookies, select WeChat Channels, paste the cookies, and save. You can then paste a WeChat Channels share link to start the download. Keep these cookies on your own computer and never share them.

Cookies are temporary sign-in credentials, and every platform sets its own expiration period. They may also become invalid sooner if you sign out, change your password, or trigger a platform security check; SaveXTube cannot extend their lifetime. If downloads used to work but now report a sign-in or parsing error, sign in to the relevant platform again (Tencent Yuanbao for WeChat Channels), export fresh Netscape-format cookies, replace the old cookies for that platform in SaveXTube, save, and retry.

When the source provides it, SaveXTube can select the available video and audio formats and merge them at the requested quality.

Source subtitles are saved as provided. Local speech-to-text accuracy depends on audio quality, language, accent, and the model you choose.

Open Settings → AI → Speech-to-Text in SaveXTube and choose local MLX / Whisper, Alibaba Cloud, or an OpenAI-compatible service. For a local engine, follow the prompts to install and check the model; for a cloud service, enter the API key, model, and other required details, then save. Next, open Files, find a downloaded video or audio file, and use the transcription button or choose Start Transcription / Speech-to-Text from its context menu. When processing finishes, open Smart Analysis to read the full transcript or save it as a Markdown file.

First complete speech transcription for the video or audio file. Then open Settings → AI → Language Model and configure and test an LLM such as OpenAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, a local Ollama model, or another compatible service. Return to Files and choose Generate AI Summary from the file's context menu, or open Smart Analysis and generate it there. The result is saved with the analysis and can be exported as Markdown. When you use a cloud LLM, the transcript is sent to the provider you selected for processing.

A mind map also requires an existing transcript and a working language-model configuration. After transcription, save and test an LLM under Settings → AI → Language Model. In Files, right-click the item and choose Generate Mind Map, or generate it from the Smart Analysis window. SaveXTube organizes the transcript into a hierarchy that you can preview and save as an XMind file; supported versions also provide zoom controls or JPG export.

Downloads and online AI services require a connection. Managing saved files, local transcription, and some organization features can work offline.

Yes. Each personal license can be activated on up to three computers, so you can use SaveXTube across your regular devices.

Copy the video URL, then right-click the Floating Download Bubble. SaveXTube reads the clipboard and creates a job. You can also drag a link from your browser onto the bubble.

Open the WeChat Bot in SaveXTube, scan the QR code with WeChat, and confirm the login. Once connected, send a supported link in WeChat while SaveXTube is running on your computer.

Keep each returned file under 1 GB. Videos and files can be returned at most once every 30 seconds, so do not send multiple items within the same 30-second interval. For large or batch transfers, send them in smaller groups. If a transfer fails, try again later or use local download instead.

In SaveXTube, open Settings → Floating Download and choose either the default bubble or a Codex Pet as your desktop download entry point. Drag a browser link onto it to start a download, right-click after copying a URL to create a job instantly, or left-click to open the main window. For a new look, browse community-made themes in SaveXTube Skins. To create your own, use the SaveXTube Skin Builder Skill; to build a custom desktop companion, use the Codex Pet Builder Skill. SaveXTube can also install a pet from a codex-pet.org page or ZIP and can discover pets already installed by Codex without modifying them. These skins, Skills, and pet directories are community resources. codex-pet.org is not an official OpenAI service, and SaveXTube does not preinstall or redistribute its third-party pets.

Open Settings → Remote Control in SaveXTube and enable MCP; this also enables the HTTP API. Click Copy Agent Config, paste the copied JSON into an AI agent that supports remote HTTP MCP servers, then restart or refresh the agent. The configuration already includes the MCP endpoint and Bearer API key. Once connected, the agent can submit download links, check progress, and read recent jobs. The default endpoint is local-only. For access from another device, enable LAN access only on a trusted local network or through a secure network such as Tailscale, and never expose the port publicly or share the API key.

In SaveXTube, open Settings → Remote Control and enable the HTTP API. For phone access, also enable LAN access and note the computer address, port, and API key. Next, install the SaveXTube Shortcut and enter those details when prompted. To download, choose the Shortcut from the Share menu in a browser or another app, or copy a video link and run it directly. SaveXTube must remain running on the computer. Keep both devices on the same trusted network, or use a secure network such as Tailscale when away; do not expose the HTTP API port directly to the public internet.

After configuring a Bot Token and allowed Telegram users, you can send individual or batch links, check status, follow live download progress, and optionally receive completed files in Telegram.
